"Respected... Fair... Uniting Our Community"
I would like to thank the people of Santa Barbara County for their support
and votes at the June 3rd primary. I received 40% of the vote with four
candidates on the ballot. I also received the most number of votes in 74%
of the precincts throughout the county. However, this campaign is continuing
to move forward and to grow. Since the primary I have gained the additional
endorsements of Sheriff Bill Brown, Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum,
Goleta Mayor Michael Bennett, Buellton Mayor Russ Hicks, and Solvang
Mayor Linda Jackson;and the unanimous endorsements of each and every
member of the Santa Barbara and Goleta City Councils; and Solvang city
councilmembers Jim Richardson and Ken Palmer.

I also have served as District Attorney Representative in the County's Treatment Courts, in which counseling and strict monitoring are used to help drug addicts and the mentally ill. For the last four years I have handled the Sexually Violent Predator commitment cases for northern Santa Barbara County. I also helped start the county's Workers Compensation Insurance Fraud Unit three years ago. Finally, I began the Santa Barbara County Rural Crime Taskforce with a grant from the State of California.
